Cool Story of the Day - The Best of Creepy

When I was a kid, I had "The Best of Creepy" given to me. This was a softcover book that was published in 1971 and it was a compilation of about 10 comic stories from Creepy Magazine. (The cover can be found below.) This was long before cable, so when I was about 10 or 11, the BOC and my Swamp Thing comics were about my only portals into horror. I even remember that I used to keep it in a drawer in the dining room because I used to read it while I was eating breakfast. I'll bet I read that book 40 or 50 times, but I haven't even thought about it for decades.

So I was chatting with Demmon who runs www.mediasaurs.com the other day and he was showing me his Twitter page here. The first thing I noticed was the comic panels background. I knew I had seen those panels before but couldn't place them at first because I've seen so many comics in my life. As we chatted it slowly came back to me that this was a story from "The Best of Creepy". So it turns out that Peter's Father, Biff, knew the writer of Creepy Magazine, Frank Frazetta, and the hunter character in the story is based on the real life Biff Demmon, all the way down to the name.

Below you can read the original story titled  "Werewolf " that was based on Mediasaur's Dad. How cool is that?
